Enriching Exhibition Scholarship

I’m very excited to announce a new collaborative project, funded by a joint NEH-AHRC program to support US-UK collaboration: Enriching Exhibition Scholarship: Reconciling Knowledge Graphs and Social Media from Newspaper Articles to Twitter. Yale and the University of Edinburgh are the two lead institutions, with substantial engagement from Oxford University’s e-Research Centre and Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology.

As the American Director on the project, I’ll be working closely with my campus colleagues and Co-Directors Emmanuelle Delmas-Glass and Yer Vang-Cohen, at the Yale Center for British Art and Yale Art Gallery respectively. 

In addition, we’re lucky to have Rob Sanderson — my colleague and office-mate — on board as the chair of an international advisory board. Rob’s long experience in “linked, open and usable data” projects in culture heritage, such as linked.art, will be invaluable as we try to advance the state of the art in our two focus areas: exhibition catalogs and social media reception.
